(Thank you, Dawn, for reminding me! I may have to remind them how obsessively freakish I am.) I’m really sure they’re still looking around for their lost Tiger Tiger tubes. Or they’re mixing up the recipe again for me. Like I’ve said before. BIG DREAMS, people. BIG DREAMS.
Okay. This Power of 10″ show. I love Drew Carey, and the concept is interesting. But where the hell do they get these people from? Two women faced off. #1 is cute - told Drew about her 14 piercings (apparently the belly button one was the most painful… and I’m no math teacher, but even if you count like three for each ear, one bellybutton one, two nipples… that still leaves 5 unaccounted for. And that’s something I’m not willing to think about right now). #2 woman has a thick Southern accent who said she was recently ”bear hunting in Canada” and THEN she makes a point to say that AFTER she killed it with a bow, she donated the meat to “the hungry”.
Give me a break. Yah, there are bears here. But contrary to popular belief they’re not just like roaming around heavily populated areas where there are a lot of “hungry” people. And what do you do? Drag a giant bear carcass to the nearest Salvation army? Pleeease. (Gag.) Anyhow, piercings woman won the draw. Channel turned.
Does anyone watch Criss Angel? My boys love his show.
In fact, when we were in Vegas last, we went to the Luxor to go to his shop. (Actually, Sam was genuinely surprised that he didn’t just run down from his penthouse to meet us and do a mini photo shoot — because when Sam was born, I purchased him the same kind of rose colored life glasses that I have). Anyhow, they were watching it tonight and CA had a thing about scams. He did this elaborate ”psychic” scam with a bunch of strangers where he read random horoscopes. After, they gushed about how accurate he was. The point of it was to remind people that we hear anything and then adapt our own thought processes so it totally makes sense. We will twist and contort information into the connections we want to make. Ultimately, we believe what we want to. But one step further, we make happen what we believe.
And so why not ABSOLUTELY go through life believing all the good stuff? Sure. Maybe it’s naive. Alright. Maybe it’s even RIDICULOUSLY naive. But I know I’d rather go through the world believing wonderful things will happen (and brushing off the not so fab things as minor errors) than expecting and anticipating crap. (And on that note, I’ll bet Criss Angel is so mad that he didn’t come down and do a photo shoot with us so we could take cool pics home to the kids. Kicking himself, I’ll tell you...). ![]()
