Obama & Abercrombie & Fitch?

ab.jpgLast week there were some excellent agent blogs talking about advertising, branding, and all that jazz inside books… (You can check out Kristin Nelson’s blog and Bookends for these thoughts).  The way of the modern world is that there are new opps for advertising everywhere… Like last night maybe?

Last night as I was transfixed to the television, watching the democratic race speeches of Hillary and Obama (no matter that I’m Canadian… I’m a bit obsessed with watching those two exceptional people) - and the ENTIRE time Obama was giving his speech, there were THREE model-looking men standing directly behind him, ALL wearing Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirts… Three.  Coincidence?  I say no.  So my question is… did Abercrombie & Fitch pay these guys and somehow come up with the perfect advertising spot?  Did the Obama camp not notice this?  It was very, very interesting.  And for someone fighting a battle to lose the notion that he’s ”elitist”, perhaps for the next speech, they should get some regular looking people behind there - maybe ones wearing Walmart vests????

In other news, my laptop is TOAST.  DEAD.  MOTHERBOARD FRIED.  So I’ll be blogging when I can - where I can…  If you must, send sympathy cards in the form of lattes.

Yes!!!! But I can’t believe they were planted. I kept thinking someone made a horrible mistake letting them stand together. I first noticed the shirts, but then they were so obnoxious–laughing, talking, texting.

Yah - if they WERE Abercrombie & Fitch models, they weren’t well mannered ones - but that’s part of the reason I wondered if they were planted. They obviously weren’t into the speech… I still think someone might have masterminded the whole deal. Verrrryyyy sly.
