Juicy Tidbits via the Friends

So.  In the last couple of days… seriously deep, thought provoking, world changing, life affirming stuff going on.  Well.  Maybe not.  But all of these other wonderful tidbits thanks to my fabulous friends.

WRITING STUFF:

The dirt on the Surrey Writer’s conference.  I mean messy stuff.  The stuff you don’t get to read about on the agent blogs.  Very fun to listen to.  But besides the sticky stuff, my writer friend (who goes every year) says that THIS is the place to be in October if you are a writer.

A great writing site - http://www.wow-womenonwriting.com thanks to the fabulous writers at the Verla KayBoards.  I started a thread about the questions I had about myspace and all kinds of fabulous responses - and new myspacefriends!

FOOD & BEVERAGE

A new kind of evening coffee… with the caramel flavored Baileys.  Add that with steamed milk, decaf, and it’s all good.  (If you have two, it’s all even better…)

The urban legend that bananas will be extinct in 10 years?  Not true… HOWEVER one of the kinds of bananas might be.  I don’t really adore bananas but I bought a bunch this week in case my friend is mistaken.  (Besides - they’re really good for you)

OFFSPRING CHATTER:

A discussion about puking.  (Don’t stop reading.  If you have growing offspring, this may make sense.  Or it will one day)  When the babes are teensy, and they’re puking, you sit in vigil all night.  After every “incident” you wipe their little mouths, put them in a bath, replace sheets, wash sheets, sing to them… whatever it takes to make them feel better.  Even if it’s ALL NIGHT.  When they are older, you rub their backs (trying to stifle the yawn) and then maybe set up a little “nest” beside your bed.  THEN you give them a GIANT BOWL, a stack of towels, and tell them to wake you if they reallyneed to.  Then you have no problem dozing off… The point is, this is apparently a natural parenting progression.  Huck the guilt immediately.

HOUSE STUFF:

This stuff called “Invisible Glass”.  Mucho better than Windex.  Serious chemicals, no doubt.  Do not spray it near children.  Or if there is a risk some bonehead will run straight through the glass door.

Used-up dryer sheets are good for dusting baseboards.  Maybe even as good as those swiffer thingy sheets I love.

Some Feng Shui tips to help me get some better flow in my life.  (Placing certain things in empty spaces so the energy - chi - can move well)

What kinds of things have YOU learned lately from YOUR posse?
