The autumn has a certain feel. Something different & new. A little exciting… a bit of a “getting ready” for things you aren’t sure about yet. It’s indescribable; but anyone who lives where there is a fall season knows exactly what I mean. And though it’s not officially the beginning of the fall SEASON, the day after labour day and the start of a new school year totally means it’s fall. ![]()
New Hair Cuts. (Lovely. My new color is fab but it’s a new chemical “formulae”. And tho it burned my scalp it’s so very worth it.)
New Shoes. (Couldn’t help myself but to throw in the new black & white skull flats, too. Forget the expensive leather ones… I’ve got this season’s winners.) ![]()
New Organizing Plan. (This year I will not book my children in four different activities simultaneously. This year I will allow plenty of time for transportation time, friend time, homework time, dinner together time, coffee time, cleaning house time, career time, writing time, snuggling time, reading books time… OMG.)
New adventures.
New Books. New martini recipes. New MAC lipstick colors
(and AHEM, hopefully truckloads of some of their older ones). New seasons of House and CSI.
Fall is just an absolutely fab and unique yearly opportunity to look around as the world swirls around in the wind and choose for yourself what kind of new, good things are going to happen. For me, this year will be special because my baby starts Kindergarten. And my older baby unloads the dishwasher without a fight. This year I have a really great agent who will sell some of my work, the students I teach will soon be in charge of the universe & of COURSE there’s a bestseller just craving to be written by my fingertips… so many possibilities. And all of them just up for grabs in that sharp autumn air.
What are your possibilities for this new autumn start? (happy unofficial autumn!)
