Dear Good People…

osc.jpgToday I have a couple of people to thank.  (I could pretend I’m like at the Oscars or something but my wardrobe is seriously lacking in Armani & Vera Wang… my grey GAP t-shirt will have to do)

Dear Hewlett Packard Man:

Thank you so much for listening to me for an hour on the phone when my motherboard mother*&^%^&* fried.  Not only were you supportive of this ranting woman, but getting my laptop back to me in one week (when three is the norm) is the epitome of exceptional customer service.  Sadly, I may be getting charges filed by the UPS guy who delivered it - my overexhuberance may have been mistaken for lunacy.  Anyhow, I will be forever indebted to you…

Dear Old Woman in the Parking Lot,

Jumping out of your car to escort the mommy duck with her 11 tiny babies across the busy parking lot was just about the sweetest thing I’ve seen.  I hope the city gives you a duck whistle or something.

Dear Sister,

Thank you for always thinking of me when you make your gourmet fare.  In exchange for your lovely meat sauce, delish spinach dip, & incredible Thai Chicken, I could share with you some of my talents one day… (sadly I don’t have many… I can’t cook or clean… But maybe I can shop with you?  Whip you up a fab latte?  Write you a nice sentence?)  Also, just in case you were busy in the kitchen yesterday…. um…

Dear Sex & The City Producers

I am so grateful that you’re fuelling our S&TC fixes with your upcoming film.  I am crossing off each day in May with great anticipation.  But just so you know, if something happens to Carrie & Big… Well - you’d better run and hide, my friends.  Run & Hide.

Dear Blog Commenters:

Thank you for leaving hilarious & insightful comments on my blog.  (Not you, spammers, trying to enlarge my manhood with your pills — your x-rated sentences with misspellings waste my time… But to the strangers and friends who make me smile & laugh - gratitude).

karen-willsey-bass.jpgIn the writing world, I want to congratulate Karen Willsey Bass whose YA book  Run Like Jager  is fresh on the shelves waiting for you to buy it!  How fabulous is THAT!!!???  A huge martini toast to you, Karen!  Go check out her website at http://www.karenbass.ca/

    That’s for the plug, Deanna.

And I met one of your replacements on Tuesday. You leave and just one person can’t fill your shoes! She’s very nice — and she’s even a writer. Cool.

    Hey Deanna,
I think that I’ve seen Karen’s book at Costco. I’ll now have to go back and get it.
