A fun new site & On Presumptions

Oh!  Rhonda Stapleton, a talented author (YA and adult) & fab person whom I chat with on occasion, is a part of a cool new website called fictionistas.  Go check them out!!

Today was one of those days where I had presumptions.  Firstly, anyone who does anything in the writing world knows it’s stupid stupid stupid to have those.  Normally I give them up when dealing with the writing world… but I REALLY thought that the person I’m waiting for a response from would finally email me today… Today was supposed to be the day.  But NOPE.

I also had a presumption about my car insurance.  I presumed it would go smoothly.  Yah.  Right.  I was actually so crabby that I left for a while and came back for fear of doing something that I could be incarcerated for… (Most of the outrage had to do with the fact that they looked at my driver’s licence and said “this name doesn’t match your insurance record”.  YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING.  ( look around for a lens)  Am I on CANDID CAMERA???!!!  I tried to CALMLY tell her the story of the driver’s licence Dr. Suess fiasco but she turned around half-way through my rant and started photo-copying something.  The slight made me lose my mind.)

The last presumption was not mine.  It was from the box of the gourmet cake box.  After I’d waited around by my email… and then restrained my emotions at the licencing place… I did what every thirty-something woman would do and opened the beautiful, perfect lemon torte I bought the other day.  On the box it said “The best way to cut this cake is with a warm knife.”  My, my.  That’s presumptuous, don’t you think?  Because after the day I had, I don’t need a freaking knife.  lem.jpgJust a big fork and a bigger latte…
